The 5 Most Beautiful Beaches of Procida

The 5 most beautiful beaches of Procida, with their authentic charm and unspoiled nature, are some of the most enchanting destinations in the Gulf of Naples. If you’re planning a visit or a vacation here and dream of spending your days on paradisiacal beaches, you’re in the right place. Discover the 5 most beautiful beaches of Procida, ideal spots for relaxing, swimming in crystal-clear waters, and enjoying breathtaking views. Get ready for a unique experience among turquoise seas, golden sand, and landscapes that will leave you speechless!

Chiaiolella Beach

Among the 5 most beautiful beaches of Procida is Chiaiolella Beach, whose real name is Ciracciello. Located between Punta Serra and the promontory of Santa Margherita Vecchia, it is considered the longest and most popular shoreline on the island of Procida. Chiaiolella Beach is characterized by dark volcanic sand and shallow waters, making it ideal for safe swimming, you need to walk about 20 meters before you can fully immerse yourself. This makes Chiaiolella a perfect destination for families with children. The sun shines here all day long, and due to its favorable wind conditions, this is the only beach on the island where you can practice windsurfing. From this beach, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the islet of Vivara, which can even be reached by swimming. Behind the beach, you’ll find various tourist facilities, bars, and restaurants. A stroll along the waterfront, especially in the evening, allows you to soak in the magical atmosphere of this enchanting corner of Procida.

Chiaia Beach

Chiaia Beach is one of the most fascinating beaches of Procida, featuring a long stretch of dark sand and a peaceful, evocative atmosphere. Although it is the most central beach on the island, it is also the most “isolated.” This small paradise can be reached only in two ways: on foot or by sea. You can access it via a staircase of about 186 steps from Piazza Olmo or by taking Via dei Bagni from Piazza San Giacomo, following a descending path. This little slice of paradise offers a breathtaking view: to the right, a rocky ridge adorned with typical Procida houses; to the left, the picturesque Corricella harbor, with its colorful houses built into the rock, and in the background, the ancient village of Terra Murata. Chiaia Beach is mostly free, but it hosts two beach clubs, one of which offers a bar and a restaurant with a sea view. Since the sun sets on the opposite side of the island, this beach falls into the shade earlier than others. The crystal-clear and transparent sea frames this unique landscape, also offering a splendid view of Mount Vesuvius.

Postino Beach

Among the most fascinating beaches of Procida is Pozzo Vecchio Beach, located on the western side of the island. Also known as Postino Beach, it takes its name from the famous scene in the 1994 movie where Massimo Troisi and Maria Grazia Cucinotta meet and fall in love for the first time. This slice of paradise, immortalized in cinema, offers a magical and timeless atmosphere. To reach Postino Beach, you take a road that runs alongside the cemetery, passing through a landscape of small houses and domes in the island’s characteristic architectural style. The path leads to a scenic horseshoe-shaped bay, largely composed of a free beach. The beach also features a small equipped lido and another tiny beach accessible only by sea. Here, the sun seems never to set, and time passes slowly between refreshing swims, romantic walks, and relaxing moments at the beach bar, perfect for a break during the hottest hours.

Lingua Beach

The small yet panoramic Lingua Beach is among the 5 most beautiful beaches of Procida. Located at the far left end of Marina Grande harbor, it stands out from the other beaches on the island, which are mostly covered in compact dark sand, as it is entirely made up of pebbles, making it unique. Despite its proximity to the harbor, it retains a natural and wild charm, thanks to the rocky ridge covered in vegetation that shelters it. The waters here are crystal-clear, slightly rougher, and a deep blue due to the greater depth of the seabed. Lingua Beach faces the Procida Canal, right across from Monte di Procida, making it a transit point for maritime traffic. This beach can be reached via Via Roma, the main street of Marina Grande, or by descending a picturesque staircase that winds along the rocky ridge from Via Bartolomeo Pagano. At sunset, this natural corner is bathed in pink hues, offering an unforgettable spectacle.

Silurenza Beach

Just a few steps from the Marina Grande harbor, you’ll find Silurenza Beach, one of the most beautiful and convenient beaches of Procida. Easily accessible on foot or by car due to its strategic location, it is the ideal choice for those seeking relaxation without sacrificing comfort. Silurenza is particularly appreciated by families with children thanks to its shallow, sandy seabed, which allows for safe swimming. The sea here is clear and calm, perfect for refreshing swims or simply floating while admiring the surrounding landscape. The beach is equipped with well-organized beach clubs where you can rent umbrellas and sunbeds to make the most of sunny days. It also offers ample free beach areas for those who prefer a simpler experience. On this beach, there is also a bar-restaurant directly overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy fresh seafood salads, fried fish, and pasta dishes with seafood, all accompanied by a pleasant sea breeze. With its services and strategic position, Silurenza is a favorite destination for those visiting Marina Grande.

The 5 most beautiful beaches of Procida embody the very essence of this marvelous island.  A perfect mix of unspoiled nature, breathtaking landscapes, and crystal-clear waters. From the long golden stretch of Chiaiolella to the scenic bay of Chiaia, from the cinematic atmosphere of Postino Beach to the pristine waters of Lingua and Silurenza, every corner offers a unique experience. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, adventure, or simply a spot to admire the sunset over the sea, these beaches are perfect for you. All that’s left to do is pack your bags and discover the magic of Procida!
